It's Mardi Gras, Y'all!

One of the parents came to pick up her son this afternoon and brought in 10 strands of Mardi Gras beads asking if I could find a use for them. Why yes, yes I can. They now have a happy home in our dress-up box.

today summed up

This morning before I got to work, I felt (as this picture might suggest) like I was on top of the world. I don't know why...I just felt like it was going to be an okay day. And then I got to work. And, like the picture suggests, it was all down hill from there. Funny how the same picture can say such different things at different points in the day.

Antique

Dictionary.com defines "antique" as "of or belonging to the past; not modern." These teddy bears may not be actual antiques, but they are pretty old. The brown one was Hubby's first teddy, and the pink one was mine. They both had music boxes that played Brahm's Lullabye, but time (and childhood abuse) have stolen the song. Mine still sort of tries to play the song when you wind it up, but something catches and it ends up sounding like a demonic lullabye.

6th row back from the orchestra! It was kind of a last-minute decision to go, but OMG! Spamalot! It's my new favorite musical of all time!

My kids built a "finger house" at the lego table today. Looks like it's wheelchair accessible, too. Honestly, the stuff these kids come up with completely on their own amazes me.

Sorry I didn't explain this picture when I posted it. I had to relinquish the computer for the greater good of several strangers' WoW characters. Blah.

This is a picture of the carpet under the door to our spare room. Well, it's not really a "spare" room. It's Neko's room. Yes, one of our cats has his own room. But there's good reason for that - our cats hate each other. More accurately, Celeste despises Neko, and Neko is too dumb to realize it. Anyway, this is photographic evidence of how much damage Neko did trying to dig his way out of his room before he was de-clawed. Think we'll be able to get the security deposit back when we move?
